All public schools should be closed due to the recent spike of cases of COVID-19.Whilst the risk is low for young children,they can still spread the disease to more vulnerable individuals.They have even been referred to as “super spreaders”.For example if they have a grandparent living with them they could infect them.Or if they have a brother or sister with a pre existing condition.For example people with a pre exisisting respiratory problem has a 6% chance of dying if infected.That is double the normal death rate.Not to mention also hundreds of thousands if not millions have a pre exisiting respiratory issue such as asthma.Not to mention people with a compromised immune system are at a lot more risk too,and with the flu being bad this year this is terrible.We should close schools immediately after spring break and should do classes online.This is more of a pre caution than doing it because of a immediate threat.If you read this thank you for taking the time to read this.There are currently 1,200 case of COVID-19 in the US.
