Ella O'connell started this petition to Joe Mchugh (Minister of the department of education of Ireland)

Student of secondary school struggle with the education system in ireland. Students feel that the system is very broken and has a negative impact on their mental health. The exam standards are high, homework, study, and test are stressful and overall students are not happy. Our aim is too reduce high levels of stress and depression in students to make a easier work environment for teachers and students. As students ourselves we know the hard struggles. Depression, panic attacks, stress, high expectations, anxiety, not being good enough or feeling lesser than many people just because someone can write a essay better than you. This can lead to harmful thoughts and feelings of struggle on top of home life outside of the classroom. I myself dread the thought of going in everyday not because it's school and I have to learn more like here goes another week that will take a toll on my health. I feel trapped in school it's not a place of learning and wonder it's a place of hurt and sadness. Everyday I hope I could use my voice to speak out and right now I need something to be done. Please help to make students happier and healthier for the better. Thank you.
