Most jobs that pay a decent wage require people who are independent and creative. Yet the American public education system teaches children to be mindless robots. When the system was created, this gave people jobs in a factory. Yet with an ever changing society, public schools have mostly stayed the same.

Children are taught that if you have a low GPA, then you are a failure and you won't ever become successful. Why does a number made during the first 18 years of your life determine the rest of it? We need to reevaluate the education system in America to be more efficient.

In Finland, their system used to be just like ours, yet theirs changed over time. They have shorter school days, no standardized testing, no homework, and more hands on active learning. This is what we deserve. This is what our children deserve.

The current educational system creates a stressful environment which deeply affects teenagers going through the biggest changes of their lives. Instead of fighting this and telling them to sit down, be quiet, and raise your hand to speak, why doesn't the education system help them realize who they are?

Don't just take my word for it. Most of the most successful people in America are dropouts. Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and even Oprah are all dropouts. They all believed that school did not add anything to their lives and was instead holding then back. Elon Musk believes that GPA is the most useless criteria for hiring.

As Albert Einstein said "Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid."
