Kids need to stop being pushed through school . My daughter is in grade 5 and I have noticed that she has trouble reading I took her sylvan learning center to try and get her help to find out that she has a grade 2 reading level. Reading more in to how the schooling works across Canada I found out that a child can pass through the public school system even when they are falling way behind as Canada no longer is giving proper grades but use a poor to excellent rating instead of actual grades. They do not receive proper teaching as it seems its no longer important if they learn or not. They simply push them through regardless of if the student is learning or struggling . We shouldn't have to put our children in a private school costing $30,000 a year and up just to ensure they are actually being taught properly. When you send your child to school we shouldn't be concerned that they are just being pushed through, we should have piece of mind knowing that our tax money is actually being used to teach children accordingly and that they will get the attention they need if they are struggling. If a student needs to be held back there should not be worry of hurting the child's feelings as that is Ludacris and its more important the child learns and is successful at life appose to being pushed through the system all because suddenly its not ok to hurt a child's feelings. Where clearly this is not as important as there education, and if a child needs to be held back then it should be done, it teaches them they have to try instead of giving up .
