keeley lambert started this petition to Department of Education

So today (6/11/2019) I wake up and Lenny My 4 year old has no voice and a barking cough!!

He doesn't have a temperature

I give him some pharmacy bought simple linctus cough syrup to soothe his little chest!

I take him to school with the bottle of medicine, take the medicine to the office and ask to leave it and to give it Lenny at dinnertime again to help soothe his chest.

I was refused.. I was told to go to Dr and get a bottle prescribed then they will give it him!!

Now whilst I understand there may be risk elements attached to giving a child unprescribed medication but as a compassionate human you can clearly tell, hear and see he has a bad chest so needs medicine to help him!!

I refused and said I'll go up at dinner time and give it him myself, we are living in a time where the national health service is dying , so why would I go and get this £2 bottle of medicine prescribed which in turn will cost the NHS upwards of £56..

Absolutely ridiculous..

So I will be starting a petition to allow parents to leave unprescribed medication such as cough syrup at school for the first aiders to give our children..

We need to save our NHS!!!
