A recent study presented by the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System demonstrated how In the year 2009 there was approximately 13.8% of high school students seriously considering suicide. However, in 2017 the percentage was 17.2%, demonstrating that the amount of students seriously considering suicide increased by 25% and this percentage continues to increase.

Therefore, the solution that is being proposed is that there should be a law that states that for every school building that gets built, there should be at least two mental healthcare institutions either within or around the school. This would allow students to have quicker access to the resources they need. Not only that, but this would also help increase awareness about mental health, and suicide prevention, which would allow schools to be able to recognize the signs of someone who is struggling, or may be at risk of committing suicide.

In short, I request that this law should be passed because it would help save the lives of millions of students who are suffering from their mental health alone in silence.
