A register for all LA staff and school leaders dealing with SEND.

Currently LA officers and School leaders do not have to be added to any official register or regulator to work for and on behalf of children and young people with SEND, like for example an educational psychologist or speech and language therapist must be in order to practice.
They therefore have no official code of practice to adhere to.
This in turn allows for poor practice that goes against the needs of the child/young person with the LA officer or school leader not having any direct accountability.
Both locally and nationally (via many online forums) this is making it all the more difficult for parent carers to have their child/young persons need met adequately.
The culture and behaviour of some LA staff is blatant, including bullying, gaslighting, lying and changing/removing of documentation. This is adding significant pressure and unwarranted stress upon parent carers and often leads to them giving up trying to have their children's needs met as they become ill and cannot continue fighting and maintaining their role as a carer.
If such a register were to be developed then I believe that it would make these professionals give more thought to their actions and behaviour knowing that they are personally accountable for their actions and decisions.
