Nicholas White started this petition to department of children and families

Recently, My girlfriend was kicked out of her foster home because the foster parent should not have been qualified to be a foster parent. Outburst of Rage and sudden mood swings were extremely common. After my girlfriend was kicked out, (not because of something she did, the foster parents car got wet because of a leak due to a breach somewhere under the glove compartment, which sent the foster parent into a rage) She’s been forced to move in with her Grandmother for tonight, and she may have to move to a group home until she turns 18, which is in about a month.

My gol is to try to get the Department of Children and Families to recognize the fact that the amount of bureaucracy and red tape they have set up preventing foster children from getting help from those in their lives is actively harming the foster children. My girlfriend and I can only sit by and watch as the courts brush off her case because she’s almost 18. More than likely, she WILL end up in a group home because of this fact.

I can’t sit idle anymore and watch this. It physically pains me to see the woman I love being treated like property be the state. It’s absolutely abhorrent and utterly ridiculous that the state has so much control over these young peoples lives. No one should be slaves of their government, and this is what foster kids are treated as if the courts can’t find suitable homes.

This is also a call to arms in the sense that if you can foster children, and provide a safe, loving home for any and all ages, I beg you… Please, open your homes to the needy. There are children and teenagers who have lived through hell on earth just to be treated as garbage.
