DBCA withhold Native title rights in 2019 license applications
So DBCA who issue licenses have now categorised Native title land as “private land” even though the Native title lands is officially “crown land”.
legislation is that 90% of the annual sandalwood harvest quota should come from Crown Land. This is purely an attempt to limit the Native title rights to their resource and to be a benifit to the state owned Forest Products Commission (FPC) by not allowing the indigenous communities to compete with the state owned FPC in the sandalwood industry.
