Dr Shrishailappa Badami started this petition to Department of AYUSH, Government of India
Problem
The department of AYUSH follow rules and regulations of GMP developed by Indian, US, UK, etc., Pharmacy bodies, which utilizes more of chemical based materials and facilities, which are now known to cause cancer and such other diseases. The GMP suggests high use of equipments, less human use, and thus restricts employment generation, which is against the wishes of the same governments. The use of plastics (packaging, manufacturing materials, etc), paints, RO water, chemical fumigation, gloves, hand sanitizers, soaps, solvents, preservatives, flavours, colours, mineral oil, etc., is supported by GMP. New research suggests all of these are dangerous to human health and may lead to cancer and other diseases. Following GMP leads to diseases, which sometimes incurable, means something wrong, which needs to be corrected now on priority basis. All our food and pharmacy companies use plastics and TO water heavily, which are harmful. There is a need to stop this. Hence, this petition.

Solution
There is a need to change GMP regulations towards the use of all natural materials in production and avoiding equipments, which helps people to gain employment. The government shouldn't ask the entrepreneur to follow their GMP, instead ask to follow natural, more employment generation methods and less use of equipments. This is very much essential for the production of herbal, Ayurvedic, Naturopathy products, which have to be prepared in a more traditional way rather than modern Allopathic/pharmaceutical way. Small scale manufacturers should also be given GMP license for manufacturing.
