Dominican Republic has been kept on the red travel list since June 2021.

The Dominican community in London has been working hard throughout the pandemic and most of us are key workers.

Keeping our country on the red list is a breach of our Article 8 right to access our private and family life. Many of us are here in the UK without being able to see our families this Christmas. The UK must make laws in line with the European Convention on Human Rights in compliance with s.6 HRA 1998. 

It is also an unreasonable decision taken into account the low hospitalisation and death rates and high percentage of a fully vaccinated population.

We demand that an appropriate adjustment is made to take Dominican Republic off the red list with immediate effect.
