Halve the UK Foreign Aid contribution to 0.35% which adds c. £7bn for UK benefit

The UK is one of the few countries to pass the 0.7% target into law. For comparison, the USA donates c .18%. In Europe, only the UK and Germany maintain the 0.7%, all other EU countries donate substantially less.
With our own deficit difficulties and the need to address justifiable salary and wage demands by the public sector (e.g. NHS; Police; Fire Brigades; Education) it is invidious to maintain our 0.7 objective. It should be reduced to 0.35% - which still yields c. £7bn for Foreign Aid and the same amount for UK domestic benefit.
It is also obvious that much of the Foreign Aid goes to corrupt regimes who fill their own pockets at the expense of the poor and needy.
