Why this petition matters

Started by Max Wensley

I am writing to you today to express my deepest concerns regarding extortionate University fees that students are expected to pay throughout the COVID Pandemic.

Many Universities are still charging full student tuition fees throughout the COVID pandemic, even though many students have no option but to work remotely from home and experience a far reduced service for the money paid.

This has resulted in a drastically reduced service provided by the Universities, so much to a point that Open Universities are offering more support and services at a much cheaper tuition fee (between £3k - £6k per academic year as opposed to a fixed £9250.00 from standard Universities).

During the COVID Pandemic and working remotely I have had nothing but difficulty in justifying the fee of £9250.00 per academic year when the service being provided is equivalent to, or less than an open University, with a small amount of weekly video lectures somehow justifying thousands of pounds worth of fees.

These fees must be reduced for the academic year affected by COVID as students are expected to pay the same fees as students who had full access to the universities and social benefits prior to COVID and lockdown measures.

If nothing is done, thousands of University students will be overcharged up to £6250.00 EXTRA per academic year.

Please sign the petition now and share with your friends, family and fellow students.
