Rachel Ramsdale started this petition to Department for Education and

Yesterday my son came home very agitated and upset after being called a nonce by a couple of boys on the bus. They said he ‘raped little kids’ and more specifically he ‘raped his 8 year old brother’. This has stemmed from my youngest son innocently posting a photo of himself, his brother and our dog online. This has been found by students of Tuxford Academy, and they have felt the need to react in this manner.

Going back over the past year my son has been taunted by a particularly nasty group of girls, who were snatching at his belongings and in the end threw his tie out of the window of the bus. On another occasion he was hit around the face by a girl and came home with bruising to his face. The bus he was using previously he can no longer get on without being repeatedly punched and kicked by a group of older boys.

The bus ticket I purchase is for the number 36A bus, but since all of the problems my son has had on that bus the driver of the 36 bus is allowing him to travel on his bus temporarily until the issues are dealt with. This started in January. It is now November and my son is still ‘temporarily’ travelling on the 36 bus. And unfortunately is now having problems with some of the students on that bus too. So what do I have to do? Quit work and live on benefits so that I can transport my son to and from school to ensure his safety? I don’t think so.....

My son is very capable of defending himself but yet the school has brainwashed him into being to scared of reprimand if he does. Last year he got into a few fights after being forced to defend himself at school. He was punished by the school and told NOT TO FIGHT BACK, to report the incident to a teacher and they will ‘have a word’. Have a word? Yes I’m sure that will solve everything.......

So since January we have been emailing the school informing them of different bullying and violent incidents on the bus.

I have been fobbed off, the incidents have been brushed under the carpet. They are hoping I will forget, they are hoping that I give up. I will NOT forget and I will NOT be kept quiet until something changes.

If there are no consequences to their actions, why would they ever stop their behaviour?? The school has no control over these kids, the parents have no control over these kids. So how is anything ever going to change? Do we have to just accept that school is something that needs to be endured instead of enjoyed?

These cannot be isolated incidents, this cannot just be my son this is happening to, this cannot just be the bus from Ollerton to Tuxford. This must be an country wide issue.

We are now changing our behaviour as a family to try to deter bullies. I am no longer allowed to post photos of my 2 children together on social media, and my youngest son isn’t allowed to post any photos of him and his brother online. This is because my eldest son is getting accused of being a nonce and he doesn’t want to give the bullies ammunition.

Tomorrow the school has asked the pupils to come dressed in their club uniform i.e. scouts or St John’s Ambulance. My son takes part in both activities but is refusing to go to school in either uniform as he doesn’t want to draw attention to himself.

This is a sad, sad world we live in.

I should be able to go to work not worrying about my sons safety on the journey to and from school. If the students on the bus can’t act with a basic level of decency and respect for other passengers then they should be banned from travelling on the school bus. Why should students like my son have to dread getting onto the school bus and worry about what will happen when they do? This is every single day! Please sign my petition for change.
