Approve full on-campus return of lectures at University of Westminster
Students of University of Westminster are being told that lectures will be held online. However, this isn't only because of covid anymore, but the preference for online learning and a hybrid way of teaching with half on campus teaching and half online. This has brought concern for students, due to not getting the experience we applied for and are paying for. Other concerns include not getting the valued university experience of socialising face-to-face, using facilities such as a lecture room, the skills we would gain from an in-person lecture.
Online lectures increase disturbances in internet connection, audio, sharing teaching material, learning environment and screen time. Each student has their own reasons as to why they prefer face-to-face learning, which I believe needs to be listened to and considered. If we get on-campus lectures we can get through the content on time, as there will no longer be technical issues faced due to online lectures. Focus will be improved from the engaging in-person teaching style and the participation the lecturer can give with the traditional teaching methods everyone is familiar to.
