Janice Everitt started this petition to Department for Education

Currently, Honywood School students are being told that their timetables are going to change and the start of the new academic year. This news was broken to them by email. In this email, students were told that the teachers were informed and thought it was a good idea, however many teachers had no idea about these abrupt changes.

All lessons have been shortened to 75 minutes to make way for an extra lesson. At this moment in time, nobody actually knows what this extra lesson is for.

Usually the students would have a shorter Afternoon Registration (5 Minute Form instead of 25 Minutes) so they could go home earlier. This also made way for Learning Session Five which was the encouragement of extra curriculars, not that the students had much of a selection anyway.

By adding the extra lesson, this causes stress among not just the students, but teachers too. This means that teachers have to re-plan most sessions as there isn’t enough time to do everything in one session.

These changes weren’t made aware with students even though this effects the students a fair bit.

Hopefully this petition will raise awareness in hopes that James Saunders will keep their schedules the way that they are currently running.
