I've seen 9 accidents on the corner of 16th and Humboldt in the 24 months I have lived here. Traffic on 16th street often speeds up to almost 40mph in a 20mph zone, this sometimes includes police SUVs. Traffic that is supposed to stop/yield going north/south bound on Humboldt Street often assumes oncoming traffic has to stop also and proceeds to a collision at that intersection. This petition calls for cement speed bumps from 16th & Humboldt down to York Street to slow every day traffic, and a four-way flashing stop signage at 16th & Humboldt to help reduce dangerous accidents happening too often here.
