The FAA must retain BSR and implement OPD! Abandon SERFR!

Please sign this petition to support the retention of the legacy Big Sur (BSR) flight path, rather than the reversion to SERFR. BSR provided decades of quiet flights while SERFR has provided nothing but excessive jet noise for the past 3 years! The Rep. Eshoo, Farr, and Speier appointed, and FAA recognized, Select Committee on South Bay Arrivals recommended moving back to the BSR flight path with optimized profile descent (OPD). The FAA should respect and implement that decision.
Further work to enable SERFR is not productive or desired by the community. The path forward is obvious – remain on BSR and implement altitude constraints which provide quiet descent (OPD). Doing so will provide a rapid solution to the jet noise issues that were brought to us by SERFR. Further work on SERFR only delays an effective solution and wastes taxpayer dollars. We are well on the way to noise reduction by just being on BSR. Please keep BSR in place and provide the ultimate noise reduction solution by implementing OPD.
There are other jet noise issues in the NorCal Metroplex that need to be addressed. To successfully address these, real progress needs to be made on resolving noise issues. Fully implementing BSR with OPD would be a successful completion of a project. That is a skill that the FAA needs to start to demonstrate.
