Dogs truly are, man's best friends. Phoebe, my recently adopted my 6 month old Singapore Special, has been an absolute light. She's been especially incredible in helping me navigate through the ups and downs of the current pandemic we are all going through.

Through Phoebe, I have had the pleasure of knowing many wonderful dogs and dog-owners along River Valley. I can with confidence, say that 100% of the dogs we have met in the area have been loving, energetic and friendly. This petition is for them.

Dogs being highly social creatures, much like us, depend on social interactions and benefit greatly from being able to run around and get ample exercise. However, there isn't a dedicated, gated space for our dogs to run around in the River Valley area.

A dog park would provide a safe space for them to run around and play with each other. This contributes to many benefits in society. Well-socialized dogs have significantly reduced fear, anxiety or aggression. Providing our dogs with a safe space to run around not only helps build their confidence, it also allows them to develop positive reinforcement with any new interaction, leading to a happier pup overall.

Our dogs bring us so much joy, and having spent the past few months interacting with fellow dog owners in River Valley, we agree that this is one of the ways in which our community upholds its harmony. We'd love the opportunity to provide our companions with the best possible life. We strongly believe that this dog park will bring so much more happiness and cohesiveness into the neighbourhood, and improve the overall well being of our pups.

Please help us in this journey - let's build a dog park for our pups in River Valley!
