To Dene Tha First Nation Band Members

On October 7, 2021, Dene Tha First Nation Band’s, current Chief and Council, met at a duly convened, Chief and Council meeting, at the, Executive Inn, in High Level, Ab. During this meeting, Chief and Council, passed a Motion/Band Council Resolution (BCR) to extend their, term for another 8 months, to move, DTFN Chief and Council Elections, to June 2022, without Consulting or Informing the DTFN Members.

We, the members of the, Dene Tha First Nation Band, are calling for current, Chief and Council, to call for, DTFN Band Elections, according to the, 1993 DTFN Elections Regulations Code, As Soon As Possible. Current Chief and Council’s term ends on October 31, 2021, which is an end of a 4 year term, under the 1993 Election Code, (October 2017 - October 2021)

There Is, No Time, to introduce a new, Election Code, without, mailing out to all household or Consulting with members, for their input. We, as DTFN Members, Appose of any Changes or Amendments, of any Election Code, that the current, Chief and Council, will be introducing to the members, therefore we demand, current Chief and Council, to call for elections, under the, DTFN’s 1993 Election Regulations Code
