Students and their parents’ problems with Mr. Hofmann are expanding more and more as the school years go on. Assistant Principal Shawn Hofmann, known to students as Mr. Hofmann, is not worthy of his position. His abuse of his position leads to many students getting unfairly punished with detention or suspension. An example of this is this year, when a student was caught on many occasions taking pictures of younger female students without their permission. After this news came out, more female students’ expressed their bad experience with this student. Instead of taking these concerns more seriously, Mr. Hofmann brought the victims to the office and “lectured” them. In the end, the student faced no punishment. Students of the school, and even other schools, emailed Mr. Hofmann about the situation. Mr. Hofmann ignored all emails and did not respond. Instead of caring for your student, Mr. Hofmann will turn the other direction and proceed to ignore. Not only does he not care about his students problems, he often targets students. Some parents went as far as removing their student from the school due to his targeted behavior towards students. This section could go on and on about how Mr. Hofmann doesn’t deserve his spot, but many students of Ridgway could tell you themselves. As the summer continues, more and more students tell their experiences with Mr. Hofmann via Snapchat. If you care for your child’s future and wish for them to have a school experience that they can look back at happily, Mr. Hofmann’s demotion from Assistant Principal will certainly ensure that.
