Repeal the Jerusalem amendment to the DNC Platform

The amendment which was added to the Democratic National Committee platform is that "Jerusalem should be the capital of Israel".

This is important to American politics because the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has officially aligned itself with undemocratic principles and policies:

-Palestinians born and raised in Jerusalem cannot vote for the Prime Minister of Israel simply because they are Palestinian.

-Palestinian villages in and around Jerusalem (Silwan, for example) are being eradicated of any Palestinian history and remnants by the Israeli government.

-Natural water springs have been annexed from the Palestinians in order to supply water to the Israeli colonies that have been built illegally in Jerusalem.

-Road blockages for Palestinians in East Jerusalem have become permanent, disrupting travel and the economy.

-Palestinians in the West Bank cannot enter Jerusalem because Israel annexed land and built a wall separating Palestinians from religious places of worship.

Are these the kind of policies the DNC wants to support? Apparently.

Do these policies speak to equality, liberty and democracy, values of American political parties?

We think not.

Our prayer:

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) should stay on the sidelines with this topic (as the GOP is) in the interest of not alienating patriotic Palestinian and other Arab American citizens from American political discourse and activism.

Tel-Aviv should remain the capital recognized by the DNC, as every other country in the world recognizes.
