The Democratic Party doesn't deserve our support. 

Like many Americans, I am truly disappointed with how our political system is run on both sides of the aisle. Our country is run by wealthy politicians who make empty promises every four years to win our vote, then never work to change the living conditions for the everyday working people who fuel the economy. 

We saw in 2016 that the Democratic Establishment is willing to disregard the voice and votes of the people to push through candidates that support their interests, not ours. We saw in 2016 that a unifying candidate, who speaks to the concerns of Americans on all sides, was railroaded for a rich centrist. 

If Joe Biden, a conservative compromise candidate, is pushed through as the Democratic nominee, we must join or build a party that reflects our values. There have been many failed attempts to build truly progressive power within our party, which only left us with:

• Empty promises to raise stagnant wages
• Empty promises to finally fix our healthcare system
• Empty promises to hold big banks and huge corporations accountable for sucking the life out of the economy. 

We deserve better! Many nations have figured out how to support a thriving economy while also guaranteeing a checks & balance system to protect its citizens. We must trust in the power of the people to truly build the power we want to see.
