Why this petition matters

Due to the pandemic, the campus was closed to students from March 2020 to December 2021, during which time students could not come to campus or use their facilities. The lockdown has caused us to face several challenges: the financial burden of paying for campus facilities.

From 24th January 2022, we have sent the email to Madam Rohana requesting a reduction in facilities fees because our children have been attending classes online since 18th December 2020 until now, to which she replies that she will escalate to the Vice President of Services and Registrar, Mr Syed Waqar Hasan Zaidi, and Chief of Staff, LT CDR Ismail Bin Omar. Even after a follow up on 3rd February 2021, there is still no answer from them.

It is inequitable for parents as they pay the same fees as the students who have used to study there through physical classes with study materials that currently none have given. NMuC is also intimidating by frequently sending reminders and warnings that students cannot attend or are barred from the exam every semester due to outstanding fees even though they have paid.

As a result, this petition aims to gather all students’ and parents’ voices to demand an explanation and reconsider university fees. Since we students and parents are disappointed with the management system and inequality in education, it has become a thorn in the relationship between students and management.
