I am a concerned citizen of Lower Kabete, Kiambu, Kenya, deeply saddened and frustrated by the actions of our Member of Parliament, Githua Wamacukuru. Entrusted to represent our interests in the national assembly, his actions have instead been contrary, prioritizing self-interest over the people's welfare. A clear instance is the recent approval of the Finance Bill 2024, which we strongly opposed, but our MP voted against our will. Instead of representing us, he pushed for an unwarranted increment in taxes on basic commodities, a move that has resulted in further impoverishment of our already struggling constituents.

Majority of us in Lower Kabete are unemployed. Instead of finding effective ways to alleviate our situation, our MP adds to our burden through additional taxes. This is a mismanagement of public money and we need accountability. Our MP's lack of transparency is a betrayal of the trust we the people bestowed upon him, and it's time we take a stand.

We need a representative who truly is one, not a self-serving official exploiting our struggles. We need someone who will advocate on our behalf at the national assembly and prioritize our needs.

Therefore, we call on all concerned Kenyans, and especially the constituents of Lower Kabete, to join us in demanding accountable, transparent, and people-centred representation from our Member of Parliament, Githua Wamacukuru.
