Demand Transparency and Accountability in Victoria's Government to Fight Corruption
Why this petition matters

The Community Advocacy Alliance (CAA) call for immediate action to address the corruption allegations within the Victorian Government, as highlighted in the recent IBAC report. The integrity of our democratic institutions is at stake, and we must act now to demand transparency and accountability.
The alarming IBAC report exposes allegations of a concerning culture of corruption within the Victorian Labor government under Premier Daniel Andrews. The report outlines multiple allegations of corrupt practices, including branch stacking, misuse of taxpayer-funded resources, and conflicts of interest.
This petition seeks to introduce an independent Parliamentary Ethics Committee, which was recommended by IBAC and the ombudsman in the operation watts report in 2022. This committee should have the power to call witnesses and further investigate unethical conduct that does not meet the definition of corrupt conduct.
Parliament must hold ministers – including the prime minister or premier – responsible for the actions of their advisors. The new body should have the authority to call on both ministers and advisors to answer for their actions, bringing advisors out of the shadows.
Together, we can send a strong message to the Victorian Government that corruption will not be tolerated. Our democratic institutions must be built on a foundation of integrity and transparency. It is our responsibility to demand change and hold our elected officials accountable.
Please sign and share this petition to show your support for a more transparent and accountable Victorian Government. Every signature counts in the fight against corruption.
