The Issue

My personal experience as a parent has shed light on a concerning issue in Wayne County. My daughter and her husband were going through a divorce. Their 15-year-old son expressed his strong desire to live with his mother, a law-abiding citizen who partakes in neither drugs nor alcohol. However, Vicky Jelly, the appointed Guardian ad Litem, ignored the child's wishes and decided that the boy's father's house was the better environment, despite the open use of marijuana in that home.

The Guardian ad litem, Vicky Jelly, has repeatedly shown a bias in her case work, consistently siding with the men involved, often without giving the child in question a voice in the matter. This behavior fundamentally contradicts the primary role of a Guardian ad Litem, which is to act in the child's best interest, a responsibility she willingly disregards in favor of her personal bias.

Evidence of this bias emerged when reviewing multiple other cases where she served as Guardian ad Litem. Her actions raise serious questions about her suitability for the position. A Guardian ad Litem should be neutral, fair, and, above all, prioritize the welfare and wants of the child whom they represent.

This bias and failure to address the child's wishes cannot continue unchecked, as it undermines the basic premise of the guardian ad litem's duty and negatively affects the children she is supposed to protect. Let's take a stand for the fair and unbiased representation of children in family court matters.

Please sign this petition and join us in demanding the removal of Vicky Jelly from her Guardian ad Litem duties in Wayne County. We must ensure that children's voices are heard and that their best interests are at the forefront in all cases of family law.
