This petition is deeply personal for us, because it revolves around the unjust treatment of our son in his crucial Senior year at Hughes Springs ISD. Tragically, this year, which should be full of vibrant memories and significant milestones, has been tarnished with rumors, defamation, and constant embarrassment, which we believe stems from the Superintendent of the school.

The allegations and rumors about our son, instead of being squashed by responsible adults present, have actually amplified and spread. We fear an environment conducive to adult-led bullying and harassment. This is not what any educational institution should promote. Instead, it is supposed to empower students to reach their maximum potential.

The role of a school superintendent is to provide leadership, and to create an environment wherein every student can excel. If students feel targeted by those in positions of power, it drastically affects their educational experience and overall wellbeing. Therefore, it's time for action. We demand the dismissal of the Superintendent of Hughes Springs ISD due to the perceived lack of ability to foster a safe, respectful and positive environment for every student.
