The SAPS Hartswater are failing their constitutional duty to protect the communities of Hartswater, Bonita-park and Thagadepilejang from crime, drug related crimes in specific creates a huge problem in our residential areas. These are reported and drug houses are well known to both the community and police officers. It seems however that the SAPS is turning a blind eye to these specific criminal activities. 

There is also a general lack of proper service delivery by the police station and, with the exception of a few officers, police officers on duty are unwilling or not capable of rendering a satisfactory service to the community.

The following are identified as main concerns that needs to be addressed:

1. Failure to act against drug related crimes such as the sale and distribution thereof and running of drug houses.
2. a Total lack of compliance with the constitutional and legislative duties.
3. Lack of proper policing and law enforcement.
4. Failure to attend to crimes reported and a general unacceptable response time.
5. Failure or refusal to open dockets for crimes reported especially when no suspect exists.
6. No visible policing in the central business areas.
7. refusing to respond to and prevent petty crime such as disturbing the peach.

We prepared a memorandum demanding immediate action, which is available upon request. This will be handed to the Provincial Commissioner together with the signatories thereto.
