Why this petition matters
We, the residents of 270 Clarkson Avenue Brooklyn, NY located between Rogers Avenue and Nostrand Avenue, petition the Housing Manager for the following items.
Every resident has a right to a clean environment and an aesthetically appealing facade. This environment should be free of any rodents, pests or insects. This falls under the umbrella of quality of life which is assured to a tenant upon signing their lease.
We are (1) Requesting regular cleaning of the building, occurring multiple times a day. This includes cleaning the exterior of the building so that it is free of garbage or any feces. We are requesting the implementation of a solution/method to get rid of the foul odor that is persistent in the corridors/building interior.
Safety is a top concern for residents at 270 Clarkson Avenue, residents must feel safe when they are inside their place of residence and must be assured that their packages are safe from theft, their children are protected from predators and the elderly guarded against those who may want to commit harmful acts.
We are (2) Requesting the installation of a modern front door security system, an access control keypad unit. We are also asking that the side door close to the café be repaired and remain locked at all times.
Being able to travel within the building in a safe and reliable manner is a major concern. Elevators should receive proper maintenance to ensure that no harm comes to residents. Elevators should also undergo regular inspections and any violations should be cured.
We are (3) Requesting the renovation of the elevators within the building that currently malfunction. The elevator door close to the garage has difficulty closing, the elevator has also at times remained stuck on a floor for hours and the interior of the elevator requires remodeling.
We are (4) Requesting alterations to the entrance structure/systems because when there is heavy rainfall, the entire front of the building is flooded and residents cannot pass.
