Demand accountability from Congress during shutdowns

The Issue

As an American, I’m furious: 750,000 federal workers are furloughed, 1.5 million work without pay, and military families scramble during this shutdown (third week, October 18, 2025)—yet Congress gets $174,000–$193,400 salaries with guaranteed back pay. This is wrong.

We demand the Shutdown Accountability Act:

•  No Pay: Congress gets zero pay during shutdowns. No exceptions.

•  No Back Pay: Lost pay is gone—no handouts after.

•  Fines for the Deficit: Fine each member their daily pay (~$475–$530) per shutdown day, all funds cutting the $33 trillion debt.

•  Enforce for 2027: Pass this law for the next Congress, bypassing the 27th Amendment.

In the private sector, stalling a company means firing. Congress should face the same. Their gridlock harms workers, taxpayers, and families while funding foreign interests. This isn’t red or blue—it’s about fairness. Sign to hold Congress accountable and put America first!
