Demand a Resolution for mismanagement claim for MFN

The Issue

FOR MFN MEMBERS ONLY ! If you are not a member please do not sign this…..

This is a petition that is being put together in regards to our mismanagement claim. On October  24,2023 there was a meeting held by the chief and counsel in Regina Saskatchewan, in regards the claim. The chief has made mention that he wants to invest into “stocks” or invest in other areas which was unclear where. Many of our members  are opposed to such. I brought this petition forward for only our members of Muskowekwan First Nation all across Canada to ensure we get a fair voice on what we as a community would like done.
this petition is for members who are not in favour to this. This is a petition for those who think all monies should be shared and divided equally between all members of  Muskowekwan First Nation. Without chief and counsel to make any financial sessions on our behalf. This is for each member regardless of age. Children under the age of 18,  their money will be put into trust until they come of legal age and at such time able to apply for any monies they are entitled to.

For 12 long years, the First Nations of Saskatchewan have been embroiled in an unresolved claim within the Specific Claims system. The roots of this claim stretch back to events that occurred during the 1920s and despite its conditional acceptance for negotiation, no settlement agreement has been reached. Even with the assistance of the Indian Claims Commission's (ICC) Mediation Unit, our pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

This petition is deeply personal to us as we've watched our community struggle with this ongoing issue. We've seen firsthand how these unresolved claims affect our people and hinder progress. The First Nations have since requested an inquiry into these unresolved issues by ICC but still await a response.

We are not asking for a full history of the Touchwood Agency claim, but rather a resolution that acknowledges and addresses our concerns fairly and promptly. It's time to bring closure to this longstanding issue that has left us in limbo for over a decade.

We call upon all residents of Saskatchewan, Canada who believe in justice and fair treatment to support us in demanding swift action on these specific claims. Your signature can help bring about much-needed change and resolution for our community. Please sign this petition today!
