Why this petition matters

Started by Vivien Bohling

HS2, the high-speed railway project in the UK, has been plagued by mismanagement and skyrocketing costs. The original budget for this project was £56 billion in 2015 but the National Audit Office has now estimated the cost has escalated to a staggering £106 billion - almost double the original forecast.

I believe this is a clear indication of financial mismanagement that requires immediate attention; particularly in the midst of an escalating and damaging cost of living crisis. We need transparency on how public funds are being used and why there are such significant overruns.

Therefore, we demand a comprehensive public inquiry into these issues surrounding HS2 to ensure accountability, transparency,  and prevent future wastage of taxpayers' money. Please sign this petition to show your support for this cause.
