Replace Iggy Azalea at Pride

Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh has announced that it has contracted with Iggy Azalea to perform at the Pride in the Streets event during Pride week 2015. The theme for Pride week 2015 is "All You Need is Love." Iggy Azalea has not shown herself to be a friend or ally or in any way shown love to the LGBTQI community. In fact, she has a long history of homophobic, racist, cruel-towards-humanity, tweets, blog posts, comments, interviews, etc. There is no denying Iggy Azalea is one of the most popular female rap artists of all time, but just because an artist is popular doesn't mean they are an appropriate choice for a Pride event, or an appropriate source of revenue for a party created to celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA community. A quick google search of Iggy Azalea's name and the words racist, or homophobic, will instantly result in thousands of links to pictures, copies, texts, and video clips of numerous incidents of her hate filled behavior. Delta Foundation, your mission statement is "...to be a vigilant catalyst for change that produces increased opportunities and a high quality of life for the LGBT community." Iggy Azalea does not contribute to change or a high quality of life for the LGBTQIA community. Return to your mission of vigilance and change, to your mission of increasing the quality of life of the LGBTQIA community.

Delta Foundation, Pride is a celebration of identity, of color, of life, of diversity, of love, of humanity. We ask that you remember the purpose to which are you called, and the purpose to which you claim to exist. All we who sign ask this of you, we are the voice of the community, we are the voice of Pride.
