Today, more and more people are claiming they have emotional support dogs and that they need to fly with them AND that they must sit on their lap for a flight, no matter the size.  Not too long ago I experienced being the lucky passenger flying Delta Comfort with a woman who had not one but TWO of these dogs on her lap next to me for a 3 hour flight. They were active and moving the whole flight.  When I expressed discomfort I was told that I could move to the last row where there was an empty seat. I also witnessed just last week two passengers bringing large dogs on board - one was a yellow lab and one a standard poodle. I just read this weekend of a chocolate lab mauling a man sitting in a seat next to him. They are animals and they can be unpredictable - what if a young child was in the next seat.  Only small animals should be allowed, contained in pet carriers under seats. Let’s face it.  Not many people really want to sit next to someone else’s animal on a plane in those cramped spaces. How do you eat - or keep a drink on a tray if there is an active animal next to you.  I’m pretty sure if we had to check a box upon check-in if we wanted to sit next to someone else’s animal most would say no.  It’s just not right.  If Delta continues with this policy,  we should be able to select seats in non-animal rows.  Just like you can select a window- aisle -middle seat. So- this petition is to say to Delta- please change your animal policy. We love our furry friends but it’s just not safe or comfortable having them as a fourth guest in a small row of three. This very loyal customer is frustrated and many others are too.  They can come but small animals only- and only in pet-carriers the whole flight.  Sign this petition and let’s make a change!
