Cancellation of Boards 2021 due to severe mental pressure on students and threat of 3rd wave.

In these extreme unprecedented times, it is evident that conducting boards is unnecessary mental pressure on students. Students who have been studying online for the whole school session are not mentally prepared to give examinations offline in board centres. Conducting boards would be fatal to the mental and physical health of the students. While CBSE claims that the health of its students is its priority, it is evident that conducting boards would be contrary to that belief. In addition to that, students would not be able to concentrate on their examination due to the trepidation of catching Coronavirus.

In addition to the anxiety, students will get, parents being concerned about their ward's health will also be perturbed and anxious. Furthermore, there are many students who will face transportation problems. Students who feel suffocated in masks will be uncomfortable and unable to give their best performance. Surrounded by negativity, pressure and anxiety, board examinations will contribute to lowering students’ self-esteem and deteriorating mental health.

As a solution to this problem, board examinations should be cancelled, schools should take examinations online. If CBSE still takes a decision to conduct offline examinations, it should be optional as per the situation of the children. The safety of students must be prioritised, their future cannot be put in jeopardy. To ease the mental pressure on students, this decision must be taken timely.
