Double Standards in Physical Education Teachers Recruitment for Delhi Govt Jobs (DSSBS)

In the month of August 2017, DSSSB Delhi has given advertisement to fill thousand of teaching & other vacancies. The application are invited through online mode starting on 25th Aug, 2017.
However, there is a huge discrimination in Physical Education Teachers (P.E.T.) recruitment criteria. The age limit for PGTs (teachers) post is 36 years whereas for P.E. Teachers it is kept only as 30 years. There has not been any explanation about this clear discrimination in this 6 yrs age.
We all are aware about the poor state of sports culture in India. Hence, it becomes more imperative to hire the best brains as senior teachers in schools. If the age is reduced by 6 years then many bright brains who have consolidated their sports background, education & teaching experience will not be able to apply for these position. Here it is important to clarify that PGT is not sports coach in schools rather they are supposed to take theoretical classes just like other subject teachers.
If we as nation wants to get more Olympics medals then work must start right from schools where the foundation of child is built. For best results in sports tournaments, we must have excellent sports enthusiast children who can pick up sports of their choice & aptitude. If the quality of school teacher is compromised then it can directly result in losing out many potential gold medalists or world champions.
We urge you to come forward and online sign this petition to build a momentum and raise our collective voice. Every single opinion counts! Come forward and join us in stopping this discrimination of Physical Education Teacher's recruitment in Delhi Govt School Vacancies. .
