Delay Business Openings to End COVID-19

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

I am requesting that the federal and state political leaders in America please reevaluate their decisions by deferring the openings of non-essential businesses. The coronavirus pandemic has lead to chaos and consternation in the United States and the world. In America alone, there are about 1.5 million documented cases of COVID-19 according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and more than 87,000 individuals have died because of this abhorrent disease.

This cause is very significant to me since I am an asthmatic that is at a high-risk for the coronavirus. So, I am urging you to help me persuade the states to please open a few small businesses at a time and at a low capacity. Even though the economy is important, human lives are more important. By setting the precedent of placing profit over people, others states and nations will continue to follow.

Although most of the COVID-19 cases are in New York (NY), the pandemic affects the nation as a whole, so postponing the business openings would still be advantageous. I understand that it was promised that social distancing guidelines will be met, but I do not believe that it is attainable to follow these rules as some of these business such as massage therapy, hair salons, barbershops, and other cosmologists require human contact.

However, with your help and the dedication of the America people, I believe the economy will eventually reopen when there are more tests. By delaying the re-openings, the government will give their citizens their best chance.
