The Delaware County Township has decided that a program that was started by a citizen with a big heart feeding children who would otherwise may go without a decent meal all day should have been started somewhere else other than Ms. Prattis' driveway. Have they started a program in the area in one of the taxpayer funded buildings nearby? No. Are they concerned with health codes, or nutritional guidelines? No. Do they want Ms. Prattis to pay $1,000.00 to get a hearing on zoning? Yes. Keep in mind they want that money for a hearing, not a zoning permit itself. Ms. Prattis is not selling the meals or snacks, she only makes sure there is enough for any child, that would normally get a school lunch, to continue to get at least one meal a day during summer. It's a sad day in this country when we are not allowed to take it upon ourselves to feed hungry children in need because of bureaucracy gone crazy. Please help the hungry children and let the Delaware County Township officials know that we care more about feeding the needy and less about filling their pocketbooks.
