As a single mom with two kids of my own and an aunt with four nieces, I am now in charge of getting their education in order through virtual learning. My concern like many others is the opportunity for our children to get the education they deserve. Being a full-time parent as well as a full-time worker makes this impossible to give our children the time they need and the guidance they need at home with virtual learning to BECOME successful. We cannot expect our child care providers to take on such responsibilities. Covid-19 has given us all obstacles we must face but if huge chain corporations can allow large groups to go into their establishments then our kids should have the right to go back to school face to face. Just today 9/2/2020 I had two little girls at separate times cry frantically Because the Internet kicked them out of their classes and they didn't want to get in trouble,they had the fear already of failing. There should be a system made for those willing or wanting to go back to school face to face to be allowed to and those who are not comfortable with such criteria to be allowed to learn at home. Pushing virtual learning on these kids is not fair and it's time to do something about it. I have prek, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and a freshman who I have watched everyday struggle and get discouraged about school since we have started back. March 2020 our public schools shut down 8 months into a new year and our kids we're forced to stop going to school to better their education, this has had a huge impact on their learning abilities and to bring them back this year expecting them to succeed is setting them up to fail and I for one will not stand for it. I will get as many signatures as I need to to pass their right to get back into school and get them the education they deserve.Please sign this petition to get our kids back to school!
