I don't want to be paying city taxes on top of county taxes. Decatur is known as an area of high taxation.

I am a Dekalb County taxpayer and I live in the neighborhood that has become a cut through to the Walmart and other shops. Traffic is HORRIBLE and is only going to get worse. We need the tax dollars to pay for sidewalks and wear and tare on our streets.

The best parts of DeKalb are being cannibalized which will leave the remaining unincorporated parts poor, underserved, and primarily comprised of minorities.

City hood should be about community - not, just selfish land / business grab.

I oppose the annexation of mostly commercial as a means for Decatur to increase it's tax base. I also worry about the impact this would have on funding for the Dekalb school system.

I see no reason why the City of Decatur should benefit from this commercial property at the expense of DeKalb County schools and home owners.
