Defend Chris Anderson from anti-LGBT attacks
Things are getting ugly in Tennessee.
Chris Anderson, who became Chattanooga’s first openly gay councilman in 2012, is facing a possible recall - all because he led the charge to extend benefits to same-sex couples and domestic partners.
The activists behind this recall push have admitted as much, and they’ll do anything to replace Chris and roll back these crucial benefits. We can’t let them get away with it.
Chris had it right with his response: "If I am to be subject to a recall because I fought for the equal rights of the hard-working employees of the City of Chattanooga, so be it."
We need to make sure Chris and all of our courageous candidates have the support they need to turn back attacks like this one – but we can’t do it alone. That’s why we need you to sign up and show Chris we’ve got his back.
Chris, I’m standing with you against this shameful effort. No lawmaker should face a recall for defending his constituents’ equal rights, and I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you have the support you need to continue this crucial fight.
