When in 2012 the Arctic Star was deservedly awarded to those who served on the Arctic convoys, and the Africa Star to those who fought in the North African desert campaign, only a bronze clasp was added to the Second World War Campaign Medal, the 1939-45 Star, of surviving members of Bomber Command. They served loyally and bravely and with a higher casualty rate than any other branch of the service, with 55,573 killed of 125,00 who flew. At 95, former Lancaster Navigator Jim Wright, who took part in 43 missions, is having to give up his campaign to recognise the contribution of his comrades. Please, respect their sacrifice, and a award a full medal now to these heroes, before it is too late.
