DEECD, Hon Martin Dixon, Hon Dr Denis Napthine: Save the Ultranet for our kids

The 4 year contract for the running of the Ultranet will expire on 30 June 2013. The Victorian Government has not yet renewed the contract which means the Ultranet could be shut down on 30 June 2013.
It would only require a small operational cost to keep it going for the whole state. This is a very small cost given the amount of money already invested. It would be such a waste if that investment was simply discarded.
The Department of Education doesn't feel enough schools use the Ultranet and that we won't care if it is shut down.
Many Schools now report via the Ultranet, which provides 1000’s of teachers, students and parents with quality, personal feedback in an ongoing format. For the first time, parents can view work samples, make comments and leave feedback on how their child is going. This is compared to an out-dated twice – yearly report card that is an overloaded, generic pile of photocopied sheets given out in June and December.
Please sign this petition to show the decision makers that you care and don't want this amazing resource to be taken away from your school and your child.
