Problem
10,000 metric tons of plastic enters the Great Lakes every year. Microscopic plastic bits drift throughout all five Great Lakes and are turning up in drinking water, locally brewed beer, and the stomachs of wildlife. While ocean plastics can get caught up in currents and circulate, the Great Lakes do not have the outlet to get rid of the substances.

Solution
We can solve this by eliminating our use of single-use plastics, and replace them with a more sustainable option.

Personal story
In short, plastic is everywhere, and it is becoming a bigger area of concern every single day. Not only does it affect humans health and everyday ways of living, but plastic pollution also affects underwater ecosystems, as well as the organisms that live there.
