Deborah Pawlow started this petition to Senator Debbie Stabenow and

Childhood cancer has too long been overlooked. We have made great strides in cancer research. But when it comes to our children, there is very little if any improvements. Since 1982 there have only been 2 new drugs developed for Childhood cancers. We are still using adult treatments from the 70's on children in 2020. These treatments are harsh and very brutal. If cancer doesn't take the child often times it's the treatment itself. Only 1 in 5 children survive childhood cancer and 2 out of 3 suffer from the side effects of the treatment. We have to do better. Our children deserve better. As a mother of a childhood cancer fighter, I have seen first hand what treatment can do and sadly I have seen when treatments fail. Too many families I have known have said goodbye to their children for the last time. No parent should have to endure that pain. No parent should have to hear, "there is nothing more we can do, go make memories." Please I urge to consider doing a license plate for Childhood cancer. We have one for breast cancer. Let's show our support to help our children fight. Childhood cancer is the number one disease killer of children. Why is the world not responding and demands more action and awareness. Let's fight together to help our families and children.
