Raj Martin is a Current student of Alamo Heights, and is currently serving his punishment of being suspended from the school because he hit another student. If you only look at what happened instead of why it happened it would seem like a just punishment. The events that lead to Raj hitting another student started in his art class, where the teacher wasn't present, so a substitute teacher had to come in to teach. Normally student are more reckless and/or have less respect for the sub. and act out during class. But one of the students took it too far with the sub and after only five minutes of class starting she was so fed up and hurt by the class that she gave up and was quiet and let the students take over the class. Raj saw this and was angered by the blatant  disrespect for someone who is working in education trying to help students learn and grow, so after class he pulled one of his fellow students aside and hit them because there was no other way he could express his anger. Although violence is never the correct answer, the punishment of suspension and possibly alternative school in no way fits the crime. So I made this petition for students to rally together in a force to allow Raj Martin to continue his schooling and not have this define his high school life.
