Demand City of Nelson immediately address pedestrian safety at end of Rosemont overpass!

On Wednesday, Sept. 19 a Trafalgar student walking from Rosemont to school was struck and injured in the crosswalk of the Hall Mines, Hwy 6, and Observatory intersection at the end of the Rosemont overpass. This intersection is heavily used, notoriously poorly controlled, and all students heading to Trafalgar must use it to access their school route. We are asking that the City of Nelson and Council immediately address the safety risk this poses to our children and community members. We ask that the City develop and install an appropriate safety solution as soon as possible and while it is being decided upon and installed we ask that temporary signage, police presence or crossing guard personnel be implemented to ensure the safety of our citizens.
