Dear TPC, Please Revoke the Auto Top 8 Slot in Indonesian Nats Given as a Compensation

The Issue

Pokémon TCG is still growing in Indonesia, with so much potential yet to be achieved. Like everything that grows, problems arise now and then and is normal. However, a very unnecessary and yet serious problem arose during the last week before the 2023 Indonesian National Championships.

After having not been able to attend last year's Pokèmon TCG World Championship in London, The Pokèmon Company (TPC), has unilaterally decided to compensate Rafli Attar Ricco, the 2022 Indonesian National Champion with a guaranteed top 8 position in this year's Indonesian National Championships.

This reckless decision has severely altered the dynamics of the race for Worlds qualification in Indonesia due the following points:

1. A top 8 finish at Nationals would grant Rafli a 800 Championship Points (CSP) boost in a very tightly fought race with very little gaps separating the contenders.

2. Players who played in the qualifiers (the 2023 Indonesian National Championships) held on day 1 lose 1 available slot in top 8.

We strongly urge The Pokèmon Company to reconsider the manner in which they choose to offer Rafli compensation. Our hope is that they will be able to do so in a way that does not impact the current qualification race and consequently undermine the time, effort and expenses other contenders have commited.

Please sign and spread this petition if you agree and care about the competitive scene of Pokémon TCG. For those outside of Indonesia, to prevent this from ever happening again, you can also help us to sound this petition so that TPC can take the required actions to resolve this problem in a way that's fair for everyone involved. Thank you!
