Yes, we are having a National Congress of Cancer Patients and Survivors!
With 2 landmark health bills being fleshed out for implementation, let us all convene - and share our experiences, excitement and expectations - for together, we will be stronger!
DOH Secretary Dr. Francisco T. Duque III, will address the Congress as Keynote Speaker and open the Congress which will have 3 parts:
TALK 1: STRONGER TOGETHER THROUGH SHARED KNOWLEDGE
Through a thorough cascade, the Congress aims to empower the patient and patient groups with key knowledge about the National Integrated Cancer Control Act and the Universal Health Care – the 2 land mark laws that will guide cancer control programs in the future.
This discussion will focus on how the National Integrated Cancer Control Act will benefit each Filipino Cancer Patient. It will show what they can avail now, and what they expect in the future.
TALK 2: STRONGER TOGETHER THROUGH COLLABORATION
This Congress will serve as an avenue for thoughtful dialogues between the public & private sector, and the patient groups, ultimately serving as the platform to give cancer patients ways to access to multiple programs.
This Discussion will show the different medicine access programs and other funding sources which patients can tap. Representatives from DOH, PhilHealth, DSWD, PCSO and other group will be sharing their current and future plans.
TALK 3 STRONGER TOGETHER THROUGH VIGILANT ACTION
The Congress will build a community that is wholly committed towards developing a concrete patient centric national cancer agenda to create a lasting impact towards improving the lives of Filipino cancer patients.
This presentation will show how one can stay vigilant as patients. This will also showcase case studies on how other patient groups iin other parts of the world led the way in changing the landscape in policy and programs of government and private sector.
